i am trying this for the 40283 time, so hopefully this time it won't have an html error.
thesis: Drunk driving is and will continue to be a serious problem; however, if South Carolina were to have more harsh penalties, recognize out of state charges, and made multiple DUI offenses a felony sooner, the result would lead to fewer drunk drivers and deaths causes by drunk driving.
main points: South Carolina does not recognize out of state DUI charges. So a person could have gotten 5 DUI's in other stares, and come to South Carolina and get on and it counts as if that was their first charge. They only loser their licenses for thirty days. Which brings me to another main point: South Catolina needs more harsh penalties. One DUI charge leaves one without a license for thirty days. Two DUI charges leaves one without a license for sixty days. This shoud be more strict. Another thing South Catolina does is we don't count drunk driving as a felony until one has four DUI charges. I plan to use many statistics in my paper in order to help prove my point. I also hope to find real stories or realy people who have been affected by drunk drivers.
conclusion: In my conclusion, I will restate my thesis statement and wrap up my main points. I will give one last "wow" statistic to leave the reader with so they really think about the points I am trying to make.

sounds pretty good. the combination of statistics and real stories should be very effective. i'm sure you already have a lot of statistics in mind, but the most convincing one that comes to my mind is drunk driving related deaths in South Carolina versus those in some other state with stricter laws.
ReplyDeleteGood proposal. I like that you will conclude with a wow point. Don't tell me what it is, so that I can read it for the first time in your paper.
