Thesis: Many teens believe that cosmetic surgery will bring them the happiness and confidence they need by changing their outer appearance, however, they do not realize that plastic surgery is not the cure for their psychological or emotional issues.

Interesting topic! Maybe grammatically, try putting a semicolon before however instead of a comma. Otherwise, your thesis looks good!

cool topic, maybe you could try talking about the negative influence that celebrities have on teens. just a suggestion

Nice topic! Maybe give a few specific examples of how and why plastic surgery isn't the key to fixing psychological and emotional problems.
ReplyDeletegreat topic! find real people as examples who this has happened to and it'll help. :]

ReplyDeleteI really love this topic! So many young girls struggle with wanting plastic surgery. I would definitely talk about the role the media plays on young girls though and the huge effect is has on them
ReplyDeleteI would only ask that you provide a context in your paper. I think you like creative writing, so if you wanted to, you could use the narrative rhetorical strategy in the form of flash fiction. What is the background and potential sources of this problem? How does it look in modern everyday life? Why doesn't it affect boys or does it?
ReplyDeleteDon't lean on one thing, the media, as the source. Find multiplicity in your research. As I'm writing this, I just thought of how the feminine image has also been influenced by history. Think of Victorian women who broke their ribs to make their waists smaller. Think of Chinese women who broke their toes to make their feet smaller. Hmmm . . . interesting.
