Topic: How models in magazines and advertisements portray women and how it affects the women eat in their daily meals.
Thesis: Models, in many magazines and advertisements portray a negative image of women and young girls and how they are supposed to eat and look in their everyday lives. Because of the negative image models are putting are women and young girls it causes many eating disorders and for women to have no self esteem.

Interesting topic, I want to know how they can affect me. Maybe check your wording in your last sentence and specify how models are giving off a negative image or say something about their meals in the thesis. I like your idea tho..Nice work.
ReplyDeleteReally interesting topic. It would be awesome for you to have specific statistics within your paper. I liked your thesis but your last sentence might be more effective if you reworded it a little.
ReplyDeleteClaudy, it seems that when you say an idea (orally) it comes out fine, but sometimes when you write it it comes out jumbled. Work on translating the idea from your brain to your paper. Maybe think about recording yourself talking about your topic before actually writing it down.
ReplyDeleteI think that you want to talk about how the modeling industry effects eating habits. This sounds like you will link it to specific eating disorders (anorexia or bulimia, etc.). Focus on analyzing the advertisements (visual rhetoric) that you find. How does it persuade? What does it intend to say? The links to eating disorders might be information you incorporate as you conclude ideas. This will tie back to your thesis and build a foundation for the conclusion of your paper.
